I gave my Cricut Expression an airing today, and cut out this ship, the wave and anchor. At first glance this looks like a very ordinary card, until you open it up.
When you open the card, it reveals this surprise! I stamped the sentiments from Starring You stamp set in Real Red, cut out the stars and raised one on dimensionals to give it more depth.
I attached a piece of wire to the “chimney” and adhered cotton wool to it with glue dots for the smoke and secured the anchor on the top deck with linen thread.
I used the 3/4″ punch to partially punch the edges of the two strips of Tempting Turquoise to resemble waves. I cut out a collar and hat for the Sailor. The portholes were punched out with a 1/2″ circle punch first, then centred the 3/4″ punch on the aperture to create a circle frame, holes were pricked all round to resemble rivets using silver card stock (non SU), and 3/4″ circles in Bordering Blue to mat circle frame on.
Keep watching this space – more samples coming – kept this simple as I was burning the proverbial midnight oil again. My head didn’t touch the pillow till half four this morning!
WOW WEE thats amazing!
Oh my gosh that is awesome! How much patience do you have and such a great idea for that die, well done on some brilliant inspriation.
