I’ve been itching to play with this set which I was recently given and sadly it isn’t one that we have available in the SU Eu catalog at the moment. I used the old faithful Whisper White A4 sheet cut in half lengthways, cut another piece of Whisper White a tad smaller, no precise measurements, did everything by eye – it was 3.00 a.m. in the morning, I’d scoffed a bag of marshmallows (less than 5% fat so it was slimming and it kept me awake as I was far too high on sugar) – similarly with the Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red, distressed all sides with the cutter tool, sponged edges with Baja Breeze except the Riding Hood Red piece and set to layering at an angle adhering each layer with dimensionals. I punched a 2″ scallop circle, 1 3/4″ circle stamped with the frame from Great Friend in Baja Breeze, and the lovely butterfly in Riding Hood Red which was hand cut and layered and added some mini pearls. I used a white gel pen to add faux stitching on the edges of the Riding Hood Red mat and wrote “thank you …” on it. I just love this colour combo. My sister, bless her cotton socks, was really generous so now I’ve got the whole range of these in- colours from ‘Oz’ plus the card stock and matching ribbon as well for my personal use.
I read recently that it is aesthetically pleasing to group things in threes, whether it’s layering, stamping, putting on embellishments or at least do things in odd numbers. I applied this theory to this card, so there are 2 sets of 3s which made up 6 layers! Here’s a close up.
