This fortnight’s challenge was to use Basic Grey, Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla and the side twist was to make it a Valentine card. I would never thought of marrying pink with red and wasn’t sure how well they would work together. My new Bella Toile came into play again – pink and grey go so nicely together. I used a stamp-a-majig to take the guess work out of placing my letters to spell “valentine” and cut them out to tuck behind a basic grey strip where I adhered lots of hearts stamped on Very Vanilla from the Love You Much set. I punched some plain Real Red ones too, and applied Fine Cosmo glitter to the middle heart to make it more prominent.
This is the inside. I used the 1/2″ circle to cut a quadrant off each corner before matting on to Basic Grey.
Recipe:
Stamps: Love You Much, Just Perfect Alphabet, Bella Toile
Inks: Real Red, Versamark
Paper: Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Heart to Heart punch, Heat & Stick powder, Fine Cosmo glitter, heat tool, 5/8″ and 1/4″ Real Red grosgrain ribbon, 1/2″ circle punch, stamp-a-jig
Really pretty card Elaine. I agree – not colours I would have put together – but you have made them really work! That Bella Toile stamp is the best!
