This fortnight’s challenge was to use bows, buttons and butterflies and to choose one, two or all three to use on your card/project and we had to use a set from the new mini. I used two sets from the new mini as I wanted the floral images from Something Sweet and the smaller flower from My Sweet Pea. I punched out a 1 3/4″ circle and dry embossed little dots on it in Pretty in Pink and then covered it with Frost White shimmer paint and left it to dry. On the Whisper White card front mat, I stamped the circle in Perfect Plum, then eyeballed the petal image, both from Something Sweet, to make my flower. When the shimmer paint had dried on the 1 3/4″ circle, I worked on the back of the circle with the butt of my pricking tool on a foam mat to give it a dombed look then adhered it to the centre of the large flower using layers of dimensionals – used almost 30 pieces! The rest is pretty straight forward, the butterfly was stamped on Whisper White, punched out with Butterfly punch and a second butterfly was punched out in vellum then stuck on top to give it a whispy look. I used scraps of Old Olive to snip out the grass and stems of the flowers and for the leaves of the flowers, I used “bows”. After completing the card front, I matted on to Pretty in Pink which was then matted on to Old Olive and lastly on to the Whisper White card base to finish.
