I set myself a challenge to use the three new colours which have been introduced this May as a sampler for Stampin’ Up!’s forthcoming colour renovation due on 1 October 2010. I stamped a background in Soft Suede ink on Soft Suede card stock using the Filigree background stamp. A large circle was cut out using Rich Razzlebury card stock which I embossed in white using the outline floral image of the Level 3 Hostess Set called Garden Dream, and stamped a watermark image using versamark around the circle edge with the solid floral image. I added some Fine Cosmo Glitter using a two way glue pen to add some zing to flower centre. On the Melon Mambo card stock, I stamped the whispy floral image in Melon Mambo and drew along the outline with the two-way glue pen and added more Fine Cosmo Glitter to highlight the multi stem and flower heads. Next I stamped the Humming Bird in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out the image and adhered the body part to the circle, and the wings were adhered to the Melon Mamo card stock with dimensionals. Lastly I tied a knot in Soft Suede grosgrain ribbon and deliberatly tied it with the knot uppermost in plain grosgrain with the underside showing all the polkadots. The ribbon can be used either way, with the polka dots on display, or just the plain side without polkadots showing, or contrasting as illustrated here. You can do the reverse by having a polka dot centre, but the “bow” bits can be plain. Happy Stampin!
