A Get Well Card

This stamp set has been in my personal collection for ages and I don’t think it’s ever seen the light of day until now. I made this for a dear friend who is convalescing at home after keyhole surgery three weeks ago. I took my time with this one, as she’s a fellow crafter and would appreciate the time and effort that went into making this. The Perfect Plum dry embossed background was first sprayed with a mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and Champagne Mist shimmer paint to give it a hint of sparkle. A word of caution, if you’re using this, spray in a well ventilated room away from naked flames and wear protective clothing! Isopropyl Alcohol is toxic and highly inflammable! By spraying the card stock it means that it’s still a little damp and when you dry emboss it, the embossing comes out more defined. You can achieve the same effect without the sparkle by just misting with water. I tied the ribbon before adhering to card base. This stamp set uses a two-step stamping method and of course, a girl’s got to have bling, so I highlighted some areas with a two-way glue pen and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. For the top Whisper White layer I used “En Francais” for the background, stamped off to lighten the colour to give it that vintage look and inked the edges with a sponge dauber in Pale Plum. I stamped some additional leaves and cut those out to layer on top of the stamped leaf images to add depth. There is no guarantee that the products listed in the current Mini will transfer into next year’s catty.) I used Always Artichoke for the leaves – the leafy part used the stamp off technique. For the flowers, the first stamp was in Almost Amethyst, and the second stamp used Perfect Plum. This is the detail inside.
