Our challenge this fortnight was to make a circle card but to use NO flower stamps at all. This is my interpretation of the circle card. I used the Carousel Notes available in Stampin’ Up!’s Idea Book & Catalogue. They come in a pack of 12. The notes have scalloped edges and there are 4 of each colour in So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss with Chocolate Chip envelopes. Instead of using floral stamped images, I punched out some scallop circles, pleated them and made them into flowers. You need 2 scallop circles to make one flower and they were adhered to the card with dimensionals. To make the centre flower, I traced a larger circle using the 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon reel as a template which I cut out. I then followed the circle contour and roughly cut a 1/4″ wide decreasing circle within the circle to form a long strip. I inked and distressed edges with shimmer paint, punched a 1 1/4″ circle and covered it with sticky strip then reassembled the circle starting from the rim and working my way inwards till it resembled the “flower” above. Recipe: Stamps: Live Your Dream, Framed with Love, A Bit of Birthday Cheer Ink: Rose Red Papers: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Sweet Pea Paper stack Accessories: Large Heart punch, scallop circle punch, 1″ double stitched Rose Red grosgrain ribbon, 1/4″ Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Flower Designer brads, Square Ice brads, platinum shimmer paint, sponge dauber
