We took the family to Sundown Adventureland – a children’s theme park for the under 10s. This post is picture heavy – I don’t know how many photos I took – thank goodness for digital cameras, but I’ve edited it down to this lot so as not to bore you! Our first port of call was “Noah’s Ark” for the under 5s – look at these adorable swings! The boys loved all the equipment. …changing “drivers”! Inside the witch’s house in Story Book Village – the cage where the witch fattens Hansel & Gretel! Eeek! Sitting in the witch’s cauldron… On the throne in King Arthur’s castle! Outside the house of Jack & the Beanstalk Jack proudly showing his Mum the 3 beans he got for the cow! No prizes for guessing who this is! Goldilocks & the Three Bears tale… Sitting at the table where Goldilocks sampled all the bowls of porridge! Goldilocks fast asleep… The tractor ride down at Sunny Down Farm Lollipoppet Castle – you can see liquorice all sorts and an ice-cream sundae in this fountain feature, inside the castle were more sweets and they pumped different sweetie smells as you walked through the castle – pepperminty smells as well as liquorice smells! The dragon guarding the crown – if you touch the crown the dragon wakes up, rises up to a great height and bellows at you! Cinderella’s pumpkin coach Smuggler’s Cove general store – if you pick up a gun from the counter for a shoot-out, all the animals hiding in buckets pop up! Ready, aim, fire! Shotgun City – re-enactment of the stage coach get away! Second time round on the Boozy Barrel run – trying not to get soaked! There were loads of other attractions, Captain Sandy’s Play Cove – beautifully laid out sand pit, picnic areas, go carts, Monkey Mischief anamatronics, Fort Apache, Crash Landings indoor play area, Rodeo Corral Indoor Play areas and even a Santa’s Sleigh Ride. If you’re ever up north, this is a great place to visit! Our family loved it!
We had a great time there at Chistmas, we found it by chance but its so magical for children & beautifully decorated, the river rapids were frozen soild & snow on the ground! What a difference a sunny day makes.
