Well, hello everyone! Where has the week gone? I have a ticket for the Make-It show in Farnborough which I hope to attend on Sunday so I’m updating the blog tonight as it seems ages since I last posted!
This was one of the 3 projects I demonstrated at the workshop I did last Friday. In true Blue Peter style, I’d prepared one earlier and gave that one to my lovely hostess as it was much neater and had two branches with leaves rather than the one shown here which I did for speed.
The card was folded in half, and I cut a 3″ square which was cut diagonally for the roof, front and back of card. I used the triangular piece as a guide and scored from the middle of the fold down to where the bottom of the triangle would be on both sides, burnished the score lines then opened it up as shown above. By squeezing the sides in, you will create the roof line.
Here’s a variation with the Owl but I omitted stamping with the woodgrain stamp on the inside.
The letters were coloured in using a blender pen and the classic ink pads. I used a stampamajig to position the words precisely.
Here’s one of the little gifts I made for my Hostess using the Everyday Enchantment papers – her favourite colours are greens. These cards are 3″x 3″ square using the images from the Fresh Vintage stamp set. Both these images have punches to co-ordinate. The one on the left uses the Postage Stamp punch in the spring mini, and the one on the right uses the doiley triple layer punch. If you turn the doiley triple layer punch upside down, line up the dotted outlines of the image, push the lever to the solid image setting and punch to get this effect. I also made a double pocket “bag” to put the cards in. Packaging is equally important, don’t you think?
My Hostess’ niece was interested in the “Marry Me” stamp set, so I made a few wedding card samples in the colour scheme she asked for. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures, and have left them with my Hostess and I can’t for the life remember what I designed! So I will share it with you in another post! Early senility perhaps! 🙁
