It’s Raining Flowers

This stamp set is in the Spring Mini and it was almost overlooked – so I’m squeezing in a few samples before it’s too late.  I should have featured this stamp set much earlier on, but didn’t get round to mounting the stamps till only recently.  It didn’t grab me at first, but once I got stamping, as with most stamp sets, I fell in love with it.  This may be your last chance to acquire it as it’s in the Spring Mini which will expire in just 4 days time from today.  It’s a two-step stamp set and I’ve used Baja Breeze, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and the Domestic Goddess Designer Series papers.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute.

For this sample, I just stamped in Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo.  I stamped one of the smaller flower images in Calypso Coral and made small feathered snips all round, scrunched them and added an In Colour glimmer brad, sponged the Whisper White layer in Lucky Limeade, rounded the opposite corners and mounted it onto a layer of Island Indigo cardstock which was then adhered to the Lucky Limeade cardbase.  The sentiment if from My Friend.

I chose to work with the 2010-2012 In Colours for this one, as they will be retiring on September 30, 2012.  This is Wisteria Wonder and Blushing Bride and Nusery Nest DSP.  In lieu of ribbon, I used the dotted scallop ribbon punch.  The leaves are in Old Olive and the sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes, a Hostess set which you can purchase with your Hostess £.

Here’s a close up of the flower.  I stamped the largest flower in Wisteria Wonder, and a second flower in Blushing Bride, cut them out, spritzed with water and scrunched to add dimension to them.  It is secured with a Circle Ice brad. Isn’t it pretty?

All these cards were pretty speedy to make.  I love clean and simple cards and the age old adage, “less is more” rings so true.

Right, I’ve got a big stack of swaps to prepare for tomorrow’s Regional Training Day in Reading tomorrow, so I must dash.

Happy stamping!
