It was my birthday yesterday and I took some time off for some retail therapy, brunch with a friend during the day and finished off with a romantic dinner with my DH last night, so I just wanted to say a BIG “Thank You” to both my customers, friends, family and Stampin’ Up! sisters for their birthday wishes, gifts and cards. OK, now on to the more serious business of this card!
I am a firm believer in the adage, less is more, so I love this clean and simple card. It uses Crumb Cake as the card base and I’ve teamed it up with Real Red and Gumball Green and Crumb Cake ink.
The greeting is from Seasonal Sayings (A/W catalogue page 34), the diamond stamped strip is from Border Banter (A/W catalogue page 20).
I punched out the ornament and tree on a piece of Gumball Green card stock (the punches come in a pack of 3 mini punches called Merry Minis – page 6, A/W catalogue) then centred a 1″ square punch over the already punched images to get the effect above. I sponged the edges with Gumball Green and adhered it with dimensionals centred over the punched postage stamp pieces in Real Red leaving a thin red border all round to frame it.
To finish off, I attached the real red taffetta ribbon with sticky strip and adhered to card as shown.
Happy belated Birthday Elaine hope you had a lovely day. M xxx
