Hello again! Sunday already? Two more weeks till christmas? Yikes! Must finish my christmas cards and get the rest of the shopping done! Hubby off for a fortnight now and I’ve put the rest of my commissioned work to bed at last! I digress. Back to crafts…..
Yesterday I showed you my kitten boot – well this is the original shape of the stocking die. It’s listed in the Annual Catalogue on page 193 as Holiday Stocking Bigz L die.
At the end of the christmas term, I like to make a personal gift for my regular groups as a way of saying “thank you” for their support throughout the year. This was my theme this year.
I used a variety of embossing folders to add texture to each stocking, Petals a Plenty, Vintage Wallpaper, Houndstooth, Arglye, and Elegant Lines. I stamped and punched the circular “do not open til christmas” from More Merry Messages stamp set and mounted it on a scalloped circle punch for the cuff.
I chose Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler card stock so I could interchange the colours for the cuffs, heels and toes. That lovely Cherry Cobbler sweater trim is only available in the Autumn/Winter catalogue which finishes on January 31, 2013. If you haven’t got any, get some – I love it. Makes a change from using ribbon!
Inside each stocking there’s a peppermint candy cane, a little gift wrapped in Festival Prints DSP, a tag with a lovely verse white embossed on cherry cobbler. We have coloured embossing powder too, so I embossed cherry cobbler on crumb cake too.
Everyone got a card too. Here’s one of the designs I made and the recipe.
Stamp sets: Christmas Lodge, Joyous Celebrations, Greetings of the Season
Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, More Mustard marker
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Framelits Labels Collection, Chevron Embossing Folder, Music Notes standard wheel, Rhinestones
I even decorated the envelope – inked the Music Notes wheel in versarmark and partially ran it on the corner of the envy, then used a sponge dauber and sponged some crumb cake on it and stamped “Noel” in Cherry Cobbler on top.
Thanks for stopping by – enjoy the rest of your weekend!
