Snow or not, I shall be wending my way back to Sandown this Saturday morning. My DH is acting as chauffeur because of the adverse weather and road conditions. Suffice to say, coming home Friday afternoon, I had a near miss with the lamp-post. As I was turning into our road, despite the fact that I was driving really slowly, the tyres just didn’t grip and the car slid and only came to a halt because of the curb (thank goodness for the curb!) and missed the lamp-post by a hair’s breadth! So I shall not be attempting to drive myself as the minor roads certainly will not have been gritted!
