Anyway, back to the card. I cut out the letters WISH and used the negative to lay over the front flap. I traced the letters out and then cut the letters out with a craft knife. I inserted First Edition DSP (page 162 AC) underneath the letters and adhered it to another piece of Bashful Blue card stock to give it added rigidity. The First Edition papers are thinner than normal DSP – there are 24 sheets in the pack which is terrific value – normally there are only 12 thicker DSP sheets in a pack. You will find the new Marina Mist striped organdy ribbon I used on page 30 of the Spring/Summer catalogue.

After cutting the fancy edge, I then embossed a border following the contour with the brand new Borders Scoring Plate in the Spring/Summer catalogue (page 26) for added texture. The stamp set I used is Make a Wish (page 9) I used markers to create the different coloured tiers on the cake then cut it out by hand. I punched out flowers with one of the Itty Bitty Punches and sponged them in Bashful Blue and attached it with glue dots. I added rhinestone bling for the flower centres. To give it the vintage treatment I sprayed it with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz (page 158 AC).
On the inside of the card I stamped “make a wish come true” – I just love the little flame they’ve used to dot the “i” with! I had intended this to be scheduled as a Sunday share, but Valentine’s day is just around the corner – how did that creep up on me so quick – so I’m posting this on Saturday instead and have scheduled a Valentine project for Sunday.
