Today is the last day of Sale-a-bration and the choices this year have been exceptional. This post is picture heavy. As a tribute to this year’s special 25th anniversary, I am posting a few new cards using these sets. I’d love to know which is, or was your favourite this year. The sale-a-bration stamp sets are depicted in Bold type.
Stamp sets used were Feeling Sentimental and Oh, Hello. Inks – Melon Mambo, Gumball Green, So Saffron. The Penny Farthing was embossed with Early Espresso EP and I embossed the scallop and dot detail at the top using the Borders scoring plate (SS p26) and dressed it with Melon Mambo dotted scallop grosgrain ribbon.
Bloomin’ Marvellous, Pretty Petites, Ciao, Baby! (SSp16) and Tiny Tags (AC p124) stamp sets. Inks – Crumb Cake and Riding Hood Red. Also used were the Bigz XL Tasteful Trim die – a double layer in Riding Hood Red, Vintage trinkets, basic pearls, petite curly label and 1/2″ circle punches, Dazzling Details, and Print Poetry DSP stack dressed with 1/8″ vanilla taffeta ribbon.
Feeling Sentimental, That’s the Ticket (SSp27), and French Foliage (AC86) stamp sets. This card is monotone in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla card stock. First Edition specialty DSP was scrunched and distressed, as was the stamped top layer. I also used the spritzer tool on it.
I used linen thread to wrap around the card several times and secured the button with glue dots.
I combined two Sale-a-bration sets for this card Madison Avenue, Vintage Verses and also used the Sycamore Street DSP. My card base was Whisper White. The DSP was cut 1/4″ smaller than the Whisper White layer. I punched a 2 1/2″ circle, inserting it at the short end so that the top and bottom would be equidistant to each other. All the edges were then sponged in Rich Razzleberry. Some Beautiful Wings embosslit butterflies were added for the inside with silver glimmer paper gifted by SU for every £150 workshop to the Hostess – very apt don’t you think, since they’re celebrating 25 years in business!
For the centre of the flowers, the image almost obscured what had been stamped underneath, so for this second layer, I stamped it separately on scrap Whisper White then trimmed it down and laid it over the top adhering it with dimensionals.
Madison Avenue meets Vintage Verses, and of course the lovely Vine embossing folder! So which of all these stamp sets was your most favoured?
I’m leaning toward Feeling Sentimental, but I’m finding it difficult to choose as I’ve enjoyed working with ALL of them!
