Hi everyone! Not Sunday again – it’s just coming round too fast and here we are half way through 2013! Scary, isn’t it? So are you doing anything special today? Not only that, it’s a month on from the last crop I attended, a whole 4 weeks down the line – where did May go? So as you read this, I’ll be at a 12 hour crop at Parkside and I’m keeping my fingers crossed the weather will stay fine so we can still have our BBQ!!!
Remember the triple swing card I made which you can see here . I had lots of Calypso Coral ovals left over from the cut outs so being eco-friendly, I decided to use one on this card instead of throwing them away. This is a birthday card I made for the lovely Carrie – by the way, she’s Head Honcho organising the crop together with her lovely sisters and her fab Mum at Parkside.
I took a piece of Very Vanilla and trimmed the front using the large scallop edgelit, then embossed with Delicate Design EF and inked the raised pattern with Calypso Coral. I cut a dummy from the Dress Up Framelits in Early Espresso, and another out of canvas discarding the stand and neck to create a dress. The canvas dress was sponged with Calypso Coral, a pattern stamped in Early Espresso from Tiny Tags stamp set and I cut out the neckline and added some pearls for a necklace. I used Calypso Coral ribbon for the belt, and daubed some ink on the flower before attaching with a glue dot.
On the Calypso Coral oval, I stamped images from Established Elegance in Early Espresso. This is one of the stamp sets retiring, so if you like it – better get it now before it disappears for good!
For the inside of the card, I stamped sentiments from Bring on the Cake stamp set and adhered a strip of Tea for Two DSP to dress the card.
I’m glad to report Carrie loved the card!
