One of my customers celebrated her birthday this week and here’s the card I made for her. She purchased this huge background stamp called Swallowtail, so it seemed logical to make her something with that in mind. I stamped Swallowtail in Versamark and embossed it in silver, and repeated it for the reverse side too. Then it was just a question of applying several hues of purples and lilacs in markers then wiping surplus away with some soft tissue and this is the effect it’s created.
I punched out a 1 3/8″ circe from a Post-it note and placed it where the moon was going to be. Then I brayered a piece of Whisper white in Baja Breeze, brayered 2/3 in Not Quite Navy, and a third in Midnight Muse – going from light to progressively darker shades. Lastly I stamped the foliage part in Black Stazon. Because of the size of the butterfly, I had to make my base card extra large so this card is 5 7/8″ square when folded. I used the Flower Garden EF for the narrower panel. I embossed a second silver Swallowtail on vellum card stock and then cut it smaller, adhered with glue dots to the larger one and added some rhinestones on its body.
Last, but not least, I stamped more images on Baja Breeze on the inside which tied in with the front of the card then added a sentiment from Petite Pairs. I think I’m safe posting this, and just hope she’s received it by now.
