Three ways to use up the Ovals

Right, for my Sunday share I’m on a mission to use those ovals left over from my All Dressed Up triple swing card – if you are new to my blog, you can see it here .

#1  First up, is Just Thinking with the Secret Garden bundle.  The card base is Early Espresso, the front was embossed with Vintage Wallpaper EF.  I pulled the Just Thinking stamp set and made a feature of the quotation and white embossed it on to the Calypso Coral oval.

Images from Secret Garden were stamped in Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White cardstock scraps, cut out with the co-ordinating framelit dies and adhered as shown.  The Baja Breeze flower was popped up on a dimensonal for a 3D effect and lastly I added some Dazzling Details on the flower centres.

#2 Next is Serene Silhouettes and Language of Friendship.  For this oval, I used several embossing powders.  I inked the Serene Silhouette image first with Versamark, embossed in Wild Wasabi and Pool Party.  Then I stamped the sentiment and embossed in clear embossing powder, taking extra care to omit “Friendship” so I could then emboss it in Pool Party afterwards.  I used the itty bitty butterly punch to punch out a butterfly in Pool Party and attached this to the oval with a designer brad.

The card base was embossed with the Holiday Frame EF (retired) from the Autumn/Winter 2012.  I tend to keep tools like these to use on future projects even if they have been retired for occasions just like this one!

#3 Finally I dug out this “You Rule” stamp set from the Spring/Summer 2013 catty.  Hooray!  I’ve finally inked this set for the first time at last!  I also used the background stamp called Netting which I stamped on the oval first in Calypso Coral.

The crown is NOT small so I made a feature of it and went to town with bling!  Our latest jumbo rhinestones fit the crown perfectly.  I used the patchwork hexagon DSP from Tea for Two for my background and adhered the stamped netting oval with dimensionals to make it pop.  A trio of flower trim dressed the base of the oval and I punched some petals from the blossom builder punch to create the leaves out of core-dinations cardstock which I sanded and scored down the middle.

To complete the card, I created a banner and of course one needed it to tie in with the rest of the card, so the banner got blinged too!

Hope you like it.  Have a great weekend!
