I was intrigued by how this border was achieved and took my inspiration from the newly launched Annual Catalogue – page 134. With the help of a stampa-majig, I stamped the frame image from Memorable Moments on a strip of Pear Pizzazz. The lines and gingham effect on alternate panels were drawn freehand and the “border” was cut with paper snips. To dress it up, I used the medium sized pearls, punched out some butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit sets and the flowers from my favourite itty bitty punch trio.
Here’s the inside – the sentiments are from Fabulous Phrases. Excuse the picture quality – I didn’t use my light studio and propped this up against the patio doors, and of course the reflection was dancing on the card – see the two arcs of light on the card base!
Not content with my first effort, I made another. For this one, I centred the frame image from Memorable Moments and repeated the process using alternate patterns drawn freehand with a Pear Pizzazz Marker pen. I added some Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, made a banner. Using the new hexagon punch, I punched a tail in Happy Birthday greeting. The tail isn’t as deep. I stamped butterflies with Papillon Poupourri and punched them out – one is the Elegant Butterfly punch, and the other smaller butterfly used the itty bitty butterfly punch.
The greeting on the inside of this card is from “Bring on the Cake”. Which do you prefer?
