VIDEO #2 – WORKSHOP WOW WEDNESDAY – Origami Gift Box

Hi! Welcome to the second episode of Wednesday’s Workshop Wow.

Today’s Workshop Wow is a video tutorial on how to make a gift box out of one sheet of 12″ x 12″ patterned paper. It doesn’t require any glue (except for the belly band).

This project has been devised especially for Leigh who was my lovely hostess recently.  She used her Hostess Rewards to get herself Stampin’ Up!’s Simply Scored scoring board.  I thought it would be nice to do a video on a project  so she could use her board to make a nice no-glue, no-fuss gift box.  The only glue needed is to secure the belly band which wraps around the box to keep it closed.

For ease of reference here are the score lines again – 1-1/2″, 3″, 3-3/4″, 8-1/4″, 9″ and 10-1/2″.

Rotate the DSP 90o  then score at 3″, 4-1/2″, 7-1/2″ and 9″.    Below there is a video tutorial on how to make the box.  I made a blooper and said that one of the score lines was 3-1/4″ – it is not, the correct measurement is 3-3/4″. Your belly band should be cut from an A4 strip of 1 -1/2″ x 11″  card stock.  Just fold it round the box and pinch the folds.  Remember not to wrap it too tightly round the box, or it will be difficult to slip the belly band on and off.   The papers I used were from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks with new patterns.  Aren’t they delicious?   All materials used are Stampin’ Up! products unless otherwise stated. You will be able to purchase all Stampin’ Up! supplies from my Online store here.  Click on the SHOP button to bring you to the Online Store page, create an a/c, ensure that my name, Elaine Harding, appears in the top right hand corner and the top of the page looks like this
