G’day everyone! At the last Inspiring Inkin’ Quarterly meeting I did an Inspiration Station on the Festive Flurry bundle. While I had lots of cards done the traditional way, I thought it would be good to incorporate an MDS twist on it too, so here goes…..
Once you open MDS, it will open a window where you need to select which project you’d like to work on, whether it’s a new one, or an exisiting one which has been filed. Of course this project is new, so I clicked on “New Project” and selected”Custom” and chose to do portrait card front. The finished design is above, I printed 4 to a page for my card fronts and trimmed it so I could then layer it onto a Smoky Slate card base.
In keeping with the Festive Flurry theme, I purchased the Festive Flurry Kit below, it’s an extra, but all the other elements used were part of the original MDS package. The items used were:
Embellishments – Designer Kits Joyful times, Bakers Twine, Designer Kits – Very Merry Twenty-Five
and here are the finished cards.
All the cards received the hybrid treatment, that is extra layering and embellishing. The card on the left -I punched a scallop edge on the bottom, added Whisper White organza ribbon, stamped and die cut an extra smallest snowflake and adhered with dimensionals on top of the ribbon. Faux pearls were added, but I chose the small ones so that it would be as flat as possible for posting. (Click on the picture to enlarge it for a closer look)
The middle card has rhinestones and silver ribbon plus the candy dots.
The top right used Coastal Cabana ruffle stretch trim ribbon with rhinestones and the bottom right used candy dots and Whisper White bakers twine.
Four different looks with the same base design.
