April heralds a glut of birthdays and anniversaries for me and I find myself catching my tail! This is a card I made for my nephew – I don’t think he would ever visit my blog and he’s extricated himself from Facebook so I think it will be safe to publish now.
He’s a well travelled young man so I thought I’d use the World Map background stamp which I clear embossed on to Summer Starfruit cardstock. The card base is Midnight Muse and they are both in the 2012-2014 In Color range which will be retiring at the end of June. The stamped sentiments are from Just Sayin’. The candles and “Wish Big” is from Another Great Year, and on the inside of the card, Rev Up the Fun are all new from the current Spring/Summer catalogue. I stamped the candle image and the cup cake in Black Stazon and coloured in with a variety of markers in Real Red, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango. To balance out my composition, I stamped some stars from Simply Stars (in the Annual Catalogue) and cut them out with my paper snips.
Here’s the inside – the tyre image was stamped in Midnight Muse. I stamped the car in versamark, then stamped it again in Midnight Muse on Summer Starfruit cardstock and fussy cut this and adhered it off centre to give the illusion of the car travelling at speed. The sentiment was then embossed in white on the opposite page.
I hope he liked it as he is mad about cars too!
