No, I’m not! In retail outlets this year’s Christmas Fayre had been planned last year and whereas it’s all new to the consumers by the time it hits the high street, it’s old news to the powers that be. So it is with us Demos, but only by a matter of months. In a crafter’s calendar, they have to plan ahead so the timing is just right! Clever Stampin’ Up!
Wondered what you can do with this Stamp Set? Die cut a star on your top layer. Dry emboss a piece of coloured cardstock and adhere to your card base underneath the Star aperture. Add punched circles and some ribbon. Sponge the edges to make that layer pop and the front of your card is finished! I used the 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″ and 1-1/4″ circle punches. The Dazzling Diamonds glitter card stock was punched with the 3/4″, 1″ and 1-1/4″ circles. The sentiment ones were 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″.
Only have one ink pad? No problem! Ink your stamp then stamp a second and third time without re-inking your stamp to produce subsequent lighter shades.
Mass producing lots of the same card? Here’s a tip. Stamp the sentiment on your card base in a lighter shade of your chosen ink. On scratch card stock, stamp several sentiments in the darker shade and use your trimmer to cut the words you want highlighted – this sample “CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR” in the darker shade. I find that inking your stamp with the ink pad gives a more vibrant look than if you were doing it with a marker. Using the marker to ink your stamp could shorten the marker’s life. Be warned!
