What’s that got to do with card making I hear you cry! Well I’ve been playing with the Butterfly Basics set, and you can’t have it without the matching Framelits, so Stampin’ Up! bundled them together to save you 15% ! It’s an enormous set, mine is wood mount, so it came in two boxes! The sentiment in one of them referred to a caterpillar, so I couldn’t resist a bit of punch art! The caterpillar was constructed with seven 1/2″ circles, sponged in Hello Honey and offset and glued on top of each circle. I also punched a 1/2″ hole on the sentiment piece for the caterpillar to crawl through. I used the 1/4″ hand held punch and owl punch for its eyes, and added a bit of detail with the darkest Calypso Coral Blendability.
The butterfly was cut in Whisper White so I could sponge it in different hues. This colour combo – Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Whisper White works well.
We have new Calypso Coral pom poms and I hit on the idea to use them for the body of the butterfly which I attached with a hot glue gun.
