So what are your plans for today? I’m looking forward to going to my local crop – I always end up doing very little and end up yabbering alot instead! I invariably end up packing everything but the kitchen sink and still find I’ve forgotten something which is vital to completing a project! Hence I end up filling in time by yabbering! Blush!
Well, for those of you who don’t own a Big Shot or die cutting machine, here’s a fun way to use those Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum sheets! Just punches and a bit of fussy cutting. You like?
I cut the vellum the same size as my mat to make it stronger and resurrected a Sew Crafty Mini machine which I bought at a craft fair in 2003! It works on batteries and had been shoved into the back of a cupboard not seeing the light of day! In the move to my new craft studio, it was like unearthing a long, lost treasure! Imagine my surprise when I took it out to try a bit of sewing on this card – and the batteries went like the clappers – cor blimey – that’s 12 years old! I thought they would’ve leaked but thank heaven it’s still good.
Having re-discovered my sewing gadget, I had to use the machine for the novelty aspect, but alternatively you can do faux stitching – just use the Essentials paper piercing templates, the stampin’ pierce mat and paper-piercing tool and a white gel marker pen to create the same effect.
