Happy Father’s Day to all Dad’s out there and especially to the ones who live in our hearts but who are no longer with us..
My card today doesn’t reflect the traditional Father’s Day card, both my hubby and I lost our Dad’s within a year of each other. We all like hugs and cuddles and who better to give us those than a teddy bear – and my hubby is my life size one in human form!
Thinking outside the box is good for the soul, don’t you think? Away from the brown bear, I’ve stamped this one in Dapper Denim, one of our new In Colours and I didn’t use hundreds of ink pads, just the one for the bear. New to stamping? How did I do that?
It’s a 3 step stamping set, and it looks better in real life. The first stamp was stamped off twice before I stamped it on my card stock. The second time I stamped with the next image, I stamped off once before stamping on top of the first stamped image and with the third stamp, I stamped directly from ink pad to complete the bear image. To make it more masculine, I used the Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon to tie a tie. I had to partially cut the neckline and glued the body directly onto the cardstock, but popped the head up with dimensionals.
In the photo above, you can see that there are 3 photopolymer bear images all with the same outline, but the detail on each one is slightly different to give you that 3 dimensional look. There is also a bow stamp – but this is a 2-step stamping one, so 2 stamps to complete one image using the one ink pad and the stamp off method to add depth; or you can have 3 shades of your colour choice using 3 ink pads for 3-step stamping, and 2 shades using 2 ink pads for 2 step stamping.
Here are the supplies I used for the Father’s Day Card. I mixed and matched the sentiment from different stamp sets to create “Happy Father’s Day”!
Have a wonderful day with your loved ones. Love, smiles and lots of hugs this Fathering Sunday!
