Hello everyone! It was a wet miserable day yesterday, and I also had to go for my flu jab and did some food shopping as our cupboards were bare! This weekend here in the UK it’s “bonfire” night or officially known as Guy Fawkes Night – an annual commemoration observed on November 5th primarily in Great Britain.
For those of you not familiar with its history – Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot was arrested on this very day back in 1605 while guarding explosives which plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. To celebrate the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later, the introduction of the “Observance of 5th November Act” enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot’s failure.
Some pet owners dread this time of year, because the sound of fireworks scare their four legged furry friends half to death. So stay safe and sending love out there for all animal lovers.
Far away from the fireworks, I have been playing with my new Stampin’ Blends and this is what I made. I fussy cut the images after I used my Stampin’ Blends on them and adhered it to a Pink Pirouette card base. The background stamp came from “Hello Friend” as well as the greeting. I’m loving the Pink Pirouette and Bermuda Bay combo. What do you think?
I only recently discovered this fantastic Specialty DSP called “Just Add Color” by Stampin’ Up! which I completely overlooked. I think it’s just a brilliant addition to your stash while you get familiar with using Stampin’ Blends. There are 2 each of 6 single sided designs and I chose the one with the teapots and teacups (pictured above) for my first attempt.
That’s all from me today. Have a lovely Sunday.
