My children are all grown up with families of their own and for years we’ve given them money rather than an actual gift. They’ve either wanted to save for something big, and if you second guess them, you inadvertently get them something they don’t really want let alone give house room to.
I’ve always felt guilty because this is such an easy solution from my point of view – no need to go on a mammoth shopping spree and often if they have cash instead, they always get such bargains because of the Boxing Day sales and that makes the money go so much further. So I always like to put a little effort into making something pretty to put their cheques or money in.
Today’s video is on how to create the wallet – I haven’t shown you how to decorate it – you can customise it to your taste with whatever stash you have in hand. I’ve used left over DSP, created my own envelops to fit, and yes, those measurments are in there too, if you want to duplicate the same size as mine.
I made a whole bunch of them, each different and unique and I die cut their first name initial as well for the belly band that goes around each envelop.
I practically used my entire Christmas collection of stamps and dies, but am only listing the Christmas Around the World suite for ease of reference.
