Where do you find inspiration from? Everyday life? Do you see a colour scheme as you go about your daily business then make a mental note in your sub-conscious that it could be translated into a card or 3D project? Or do you spend an in-ordinate time surfing the net and stalk Pinterest?
When your hobby becomes a business and you have to deliver projects for classes or displays and events, I often wonder where to find inspiration from. Sometimes it’s staring you in the face and you don’t even realise it! The Stampin’ Up! catalogue of course! That’s what sparked off this card – a shaker card. I’ve had this suite for a while, but haven’t had an opportunity to break it out of its box till now. I didn’t have any sequins to match the colours on the paper, so I simply made my own confetti using the fringe scissors (now retired) out of Marina Mist and Powder Pink card stock – these are colours used in the DSP and Stampin’ Up! being Stampin’ Up! everything had to coordinate, of course! This was just one of the cards I designed for February’s card club. All the pieces to make the shaker elements were cut the same size, the DSP, window sheet and Whisper White card stock. If you look closely, you’ll also see that I used glimmer paste on the stamped cake (looks like spotted icing), and also on the window sheet.
Love it!
