One of my team celebrated a milestone birthday recently, so that definitely warranted a birthday card with bells and whistles attached – so what better way than with the Broadway Birthday set? I confess that I am a terrible hoarder but in some instances, it’s not a bad thing at all! Remember those tiny number dies? I’m so thankful I still have mine, and I use them time and time again. They certainly came in handy for this card. This was teamed with Lovely Lipstick for a pop of colour – the Broadway Bound Specialty DSP is box quality card stock and it pained me to have to chop it up, but as it was a special birthday and for someone special, I put my big girl pants on and used a large piece to cover the whole of the front of the card. We have some new metallic pearls, and these came into play – I popped one in each exposed hole on the “Hollywood” type frame to make it look like lights and if you look carefully, there’s also a gold metallic candle embellishment tucked behind the numbers I mounted on the black stitched shape die cut circle.
With such a busy front, I kept the inside really clean and simple – cutting off a strip of the Broadway Bound gold foiled paper and adhering it near the bottom and stamping a sentiment above it in Lovely Lipstick.
I also made a bespoke box to put her gift in. Rooting through my hoard stash, I used the trio heart punch (retired) and punched out some hearts which I adhered in a cascade fashion on the “Hollywood” type sign boards.
Remember the Celebrate You Thinlits from Sale-A-Bration early this year? They were a Level 2 giveaway, and are now available for purchasing in the new Annual Catalogue. They were perfect for this occasion. I hope she liked it!
