G’Day everyone!
It seems that the heat wave we’re experiencing hasn’t been confined to Europe alone, and I’ve watched the news with horror at the raging wild fires in Greece, and the ones in California. Then there were those earthquakes in Lombok, Indondesia 250 dead at time of writing and 20,000 rendered homeless so my thoughts today are for all those affected by these disasters on such an epic scale. Compared to that, back on the home front, I am thankful that our top temps were in the 30s C (86F plus) and not in the high 40sC (104F plus) as it was in Spain.
So on a lighter note – this was one of the items I created as a Display Stamper for my upline Amanda’s meeting last month. Remember the Window Box Thinlits dies? I was given a half pack of Petal Promenade to create at least 4-6 projects and I think I ended up creating 12. Three 3-D items and 9 cards.
Here’s one of the 3D items – I made a bigger hexagonal box so that I could incorporate the sheet of labels for the 6 panels. Inside each of the panels I alternated a die cut Springtime Impressions butterfly and the Beautiful Promenade flower from the Petal Promenade Bundle.
I worked backwards – measured the size of the DSP panels, allowing border tolerance, to determine the size of the box and to create the hexagon, you simply use a compass to draw a circle. On the circle’s perimeter, you place the sharp point, and mark the perimeter with the circle’s radius 6 times, connect the marks with straight lines to create your hexagon.
Following the principle of how to assemble the hexagonal box with the Window Box Thinlits, I did the same with this bigger box, and then die cut the decorative piece in Mossy Meadow to embellish the lid of the larger box.
