Oh my word – Sunday again! Time is speeding by! I hope you’ve had a good week!
When Stampin’ Up! opened up in Japan, it meant that they would inevitably include some stamps indigenous to the Japanese market. “All the Good Things” encompasses two of my favourite things – my love of Bonzai and Koi Carp!
Many years ago when we still lived in Bromley, we had inherited a little pond which came with the property. We reared baby Koi in it (well they started off as tiddlers but grew quite large). Our next door neighbour was a Koi Carp fancier and he had a huge pond which took up the width of his garden and they were enormous specimens with all sorts of beautiful markings worth thousands of pounds! He even bred them and sold the tiddlers to aquariums all over the country.
Long story short, one day I heard a roar and some colourful language – some enterprising boys had been “ahem” fly fishing over his back fence on ladders! Needless to say, he stepped up security to prevent it from ever happening again!
So this is my card for today! I used the stamparatus to help me double stamp in exactly the same position, first in Grapefruit Grove. Then I cleaned the stamps and stamped a second time in Versamark so I could clear emboss afterwards. With the fine tip glue pen, I outlined the Koi and flooded a thin layer in all the white spaces on the Koi for an embossed resist effect.
Next I spritzed the shimmery white card stock till it was fairly wet and sprinkled sparingly the Brusho Crystal, tilting the card stock to manipulate the crystals as it reacted to create this abstract effect. I blotted off the excess water with a kitchen towel and sandwiched it under some heavy books to allow it to dry flat before mounting it onto a Grapefruit Grove mat which was adhered to the thick Whisper White card base. Hope you like it!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
