Hello Everyone!
Remember the Koi from All The Good Things stamp set I touched on Sunday before last? I thought I’d follow up with one of the Bonsai today. I am simply loving my Stamparatus, Stampin’ Up!’s own brand of stamp positioning tool.
To stamp multi-colours on an image, it was standard practice to use marker pens to ink up the stamp, but I have never found that to be very satifactory because the trade off is that when it’s stamped, the colours look washed out. This is where the Stamparatus proves its worth! Having the stamp positioned on the acrylic plate, you can use the ink pads to ink up each section and an absorber cloth or wet wipe to remove ink where necessary. For example, I wanted the pot in Grey/Gray, so if the tree trunk also picked up some grey/gray ink, I then cleaned off the ink on the tree trunk. Alternatively you can use post-it notes to mask off the areas.
Oftentimes Japanese gardens have moon gates, so I used the largest stitched shaped circle to “frame” my Bonsai and the Stitched Labels framelits to frame my sentiment. Both were popped up on dimensionals on the Basic Gray layer which I dry embossed with the Subtles Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
To finish the card, I threaded metallic Shaded Spruce ribbon through the apertures on the label. Hope you like it!
Have a good week!
