My lovely Stampin’ Up! mummy hit her £400,000 career to date sales, and I made her a card to congratulate her on this milestone! So often she encourages her team and champions them, but who is there to champion her, because she is at the top of the tree, as it were!
I am so glad that I hung on to the Number of Years bundle which retired a couple of years ago – because they do the job perfectly. There’s just no substitute for certain occasions when you need that extra WOW factor – 400 K is a big deal!
This was not a standard size card – I needed one to fit all those numbers in! It was also an opportunity to use the eclipse technique – so that involved a lot of die cutting! I stamped the card front first, then die cut the numbers taking care to keep the centres of the numbers in tact to ensure the pattern was maintained throughout. Then I die cut 2 more of each number and adhered the stamped centres with a blank number and built up the layers before adhering the stamped layer to the corresponding numbers and pattern last. The numbers were sponged to give it more definition. I then went over the letters with Clear Wink of Stella to make it stand out more.
For the inside of the card, the sentiment comes from “A Big Thank You” photopolymer stamp set and I have a video scheduled in my Top Tip Tuesday slot to show you how I used the Stamparatus to help me stamp the words in a horizontal line instead of how it is originally configured vertically.
Needless to say, being an oversized card, I then had to make a bespoke envelop for it using a 12″x 12″ piece of Whisper White card stock.
I hope she liked it.
