Hello and a Happy Sunday to you!
I resisted and resisted the temptation to get this set but in the end, the pull of the faux stitching on the dies that coordinate with this set was too great and I caved!
The detailed filigree heart is from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits, so this is the first of a few Valentine themed cards in February. I attached a multipurpose adhesive sheet on the back of the Lovely Lipstick foil (free with Sale-a-bration subject to a qualifying order) so it would make adhering it to the card much easier and that way you don’t get glue all over yourself!
Remember a Crafter’s old adage? Never mistakes, but an embellishment opportunity? lol! I’ll let you into a little secret! I originally cut foil to go on the back, but thought it too wasteful, so I used the Rectangle Stitched framelits to cut out the centre which I could then use on another project. I remembered that wet glue and foil don’t really mix – it slips and slides every which way and leaves marks so I used tear and tape. Tear and tape isn’t forgiving – and foil being foil, it will buckle and crease and it just looked a mess! In trying to remove said foil – I slightly ripped that bit of card stock which the ribbon now cleverly hides! Shhh! don’t tell anyone! Has that ever happened to you?
I also didn’t want to cover up the cascade of hearts – this is a stamp from Forever Lovely, so I embossed the sentiment on Vellum card stock. Did you know Stampin’ Up! carries the 2018-2020 In-Colour embossing powders? It was perfect for this project because the inks and ribbon I used were both Lovely Lipstick.
So that’s my tale for this Sunday!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend – happy stamping!
