Happy Sunday! I don’t know where time goes, the days go flying by and before you know it, it’s the end of the week and almost the start of another! We’re already half way through March and there is only 2 more weeks left of the Sale-a-bration Coordination product promotion to run.
If you have subscribed to my channel on YouTube, I gave you a glimpse of this card in episode #5 of 6 in my Sale-a-bration Coordination series or you can see it in this post HERE.
We get so easily swept up by all that is current that the Annual Catalogue gems can get forgotten. Do you remember the Animal Outing stamp set? There’s a little tree frog sitting on a branch, and of course it also features in the Animal Expedition DSP 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) pack!
I especially love the Lilypad die from Hop Around Framelits set – it’s perfect for perching Mr Frog on! I’ve had to remove the supply link from this post because sadly, they sold out within 3 days in Europe, however Stampin’ Up! will fulfill back orders. These Sale-a-bration Coordination products are for a limited time only, so it just goes to prove, if you love something enough, don’t delay!
If you’re looking for another lilypad stamp there is, believe it or not, a stamp set called “Lilypad Lake” and I’ve included the supply link below. That would work equally well!
To create the “pond”, I picked up some ink with an acrylic block to use as my palette. With the old style ink pads, you squeezed the lid to pick up ink and used the ink on the lid as your palette but with the new style ink pads, there’s less give in the lid so I just find it easier to pick up ink with an acrylic block which I can rinse off once I’ve finished and my lids stay nice and clean. Then I used an aqua painter to colour wash the background and also spritzed the block with water and smooshed it for a more abstract look.
Remember those clear rain drops? They’ve been retired, but I had some left, so I added those too for the splashes of water!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend – and thanks for popping by!
