Happy Sunday!
With Countdowns to Christmas and Halloween coming, I thought I’d devote my Sunday posts to something that is non-seasonal and to mix using products from the Annual Catalogue as well as the seasonal one!
Who knew that Stampin’ Up!’s patented Dist-INK-tive stamps could also be made in photopolymer? Well, they have!
I’m revisiting one of the techniques I taught several years ago, 2012, in fact – you can see the post HERE called Triple stamping.
This is the same technique I’ve used in creating this card for my daughter’s birthday in August, but using current materials and stamp set which is Beautiful Friendship and the new In colors for 2019-2021 – Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose. To create the lighter shade of pink, I stamped the same image again without re-inking the stamp.
Triple stamping technique
It’s very easy to do. You cut 3 layers of Whisper White card stock in decreasing sizes. Here are the measurements – for the metric measurements I’ve rounded it off the the nearest mm). Largest piece – 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ (14 cm x 9.5 cm) Medium piece – 4-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ (11.5 cm x 7 cm) Smallest piece – 3-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ (9 cm x 4.5 cm)
The card base in Seaside Spray is 8-1/4″ x 5-7/8″ folded in half. You then need two mat layers for the medium and smallest Whisper White piece.
Seaside Spray mat layers
Medium – 4-3/4″ x 3″
Smallest – 3-3/4″ x 2″.
The term Triple stamping was “coined” from stamping on a triple stack of card stock, so you temporarily adhere the Whisper White medium piece to the largest piece, and the smallest Whisper White piece to the medium piece making a stack of three. Do all your stamping, then separate the layers and adhere them to the corresponding Seaside Spray mat layers and hey presto, you get the effect above.
This is the inside, with plenty of room for a personal message.
