Hello everyone! Happy Sunday!
What are you up to today? I’m getting to craft with some of the ladies in my team today – and who doesn’t love to craft with like minded people?
Today I’m sharing just one of the many cards I made with the Botanical Prints Medley. The Designer Series Paper in its original form was just black and white on a Pretty Peacock background.
I wanted something to match the pre-die cut accent so I coloured the images with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends combo. These sheets are 6″x 6″, and to get the maximum use out of the sheet, I only cut a 1-3/4″ (4.4 cm) strip which meant I had enough left over to make another 2 cards out of that same sheet! Frugal or what?
The main colours in the Medley are Pretty Peacock, Terracotta Tile, Crushed Curry, Basic Black and Whisper White – I added a new one – Cherry Cobbler!
I adhered the DSP on to Cherry Cobbler and then Old Olive to make it “pop”.
There’s a story behind the pre-cut label. When I stamped the greeting on the reverse side (which is the right way up as it had a silver edge all around the perimeter), the Cherry Cobbler ink didn’t “take” as my ink pad hadn’t been used for some time and needed re-inking! I wish I’d used my Stamparatus, then I wouldn’t have had a problem. Chances of me stamping in the exact same spot as before was a million to one. So I just flipped the label over on the wrong side, re-inked my ink pad so it was nice and juicy and voila – all fixed and I didn’t waste the pre-die cut label!
For the “wow” factor, I added one of the copper coloured metal bee. There’s only 12 in the Medley kit, I wish there were more….I’d put it on everything! As there’s only 12, it’ll have to be used sparingly and given to someone special!
Thanks for visiting – enjoy your weekend!
