Big Big Birthday Card

I can’t believe it’s the end of another week, and just about to start another!

We had a trip touring China booked for September/October to mark special birthdays this year. However COVID-19 came along and scuppered our trip.

Big birthday, big card so I just folded an A4 sheet in half and here is the result! For hubby’s birthday I gave him his heart’s desire, an Off-the-Road bike. As a top up present to “open” on the day, a bird table, bird feeders as well as bird food. So, of course, I had to depict a cyclist and some birds on his card!

The rainbow glimmer paper is gorgeous but too precious to hide behind the Whisper White card front layer. I gutted it and stuck it on a self-adhesive sheet before die cutting these intricate swirly stars.

Using Coastal Cabana and Blackberry Bliss markers, I inked the stamps to create the two tone effect.

The cyclist is from a retired stamp set called “Do the Impossible” and I hung on to that stamp set because we have some pretty sporty individuals in our family and I knew it would come in useful.

Can you guess what other stamps I used? I particularly liked the font from Peaceful Moments for the “congratulations” and “Happy Birthday” sentiments and the others are from a photopolymer set called “Family Party”.

The other stamp set I used is called “Free as a Bird”. I coloured the images with Stampin’ Write markers instead of Stampin’ Blends as I didn’t want any bleeding to the back of the card if I had used the latter.
