Which camp are you in? Do you feel images for pine trees are just for Christmas? Can you use the pine trees for other occasions? I say “yes” to both. Pine trees are evergreen, so no matter what time of year, they can be used on a card and not just at Christmas.
We’ll start with a Christmas one first. I’ve been using the Gold Card and Envelopes for most of my Christmas cards this year. One year, I allowed my creativity to run away with me and I forgot that lots of layers, dimensionals, and embellishments add to the weight of each card. Consequently, when it came around to posting them overseas, I spent a small fortune on posting each card, more than it cost to create the card in the first place!
Not this year, these cards have a gold “frame” already, and I just added a mat layer with the “insides” cut out and the stamped Very Vanilla layer was embossed to add texture. Then a simple greeting with flag ends to complete the card.
There are two sentiments in this set. I embossed “Thinking of You” in Whisper White on Shaded Spruce card stock and fussy cut it. I sponged the taller Mountain Range in Shaded Spruce and embossed the one in the foreground with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder.
The background is from the Snowflake Splendour DSP.
Here’s a birthday card using the Feels Like Frost DSP as my background layer. I gold embossed the sentiment. The tree was stamped in Gray Granite first. I stamped the tree again in Versamark but slightly offset it. This was so that I could white emboss it to look like there was snow on the tree’s branches.
A note card……
…and finally a best wishes card.
