Gift packaging Sweetest Time

The taste of American chocolate is definitely different from European chocolate. I can’t really put my finger on it. Suffice to say, when Christmas approaches, I do like to have some Hershey Kisses.

These aren’t readily available in our local Supermarkets, and I have to order them especially at enormous expense as they are American imports.

The chocolates were put into a mosaic pattern cello bag and decorated with a belly band of pretty paper, label and ribbon.

I also made some cards to show off the border dies.

This one was a variation of partial gate-fold card, rather like a Stable door. It’s in landscape orientation. I find that the traditional way of creating landscape cards are difficult to display, as they have a tendency to slide and eventually lay flat.

This “stable door” or “dutch door” is a partial gate-fold, and when you stand it up, the added stability enables it to stay upright.

In this photo, the gate-folds have been opened to show a continuation of stamped candles.

The second card used the candy cane border die which was die cut in Real Red card stock. I adhered it to a Very Vanilla layer which had been embossed with the Subtles 3D embossing folder. The sentiment was gold embossed and die cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I took my inspiration for this card from the August-December 2020 Mini itself but tweeked it to make it my own. Do you have a favourite?

I digress, without further ado, press play and see how I created the sweet wrapper/belly band for the Hershey Hugs & Kisses!
