Birthday in a box

Happy Sunday!

It is such a worry when one’s other half has been diagnosed with a serious illness. Worst still, if the surgery takes place on your birthday! I wanted to surprise my friend with something special to help alleviate such a traumatic day.

Julie Kettlewell was a guest on the UK demonstrator FB group and shared this lovely idea. It was just the perfect thing to create for my friend as they’re both going through a difficult time at the moment.

This is a paper pumpkin box which I decorated using the Sale-a-bration Paper Blooms 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

My friend and her other half had been isolating before his surgery, and will also have to isolate post surgery. Julie’s idea of taking the party to her was an excellent idea!

Inside the box is a fun fold card, a candy bar, balloon and blower. Thank goodness we can still shop online, as I had neither balloons or party paraphenalia to hand!

So here’s the fabulous card spread out. It uses one sheet of 12″ x 12″ patterned paper. I didn’t have the stamp set which coordinates with this paper, so I fussy cut the floral images from another sheet to embellish the panels with.

I will be duplicating this project in a future video but will list the supplies I used for this one below.
