Mirrored Technique with Darling Donkeys Valentine

Hello you! At time of writing, I am still patiently waiting for the goodies I ordered at the beginning of January. By the time this post is scheduled to publish, Valentine’s Day will be less than a fortnight away.

With Britain having left the EU, the new rules and regulations kicked in and an incredible backlog of items piled up waiting to get clearance before being shipped from across the Channel. Then we had other hoops it needed to jump through before being delivered here in the UK. It almost broke UPS who are doing an incredible job while they work to clear the backlog. Of course, the pandemic hasn’t helped as staff levels fluctuate. It goes without saying, the safety and health of the people who deliver these services to keep our countries ticking is paramount.

Consequently, I have looked at other ways to create Valentine cards with what I have in hand.

Have you noticed that I have a theme running through my cards this week? Yes, it’s blending! There are two techniques today. First, it’s reverse blending – this means blending the areas outside the central masked area and the second is the mirror image of the “jenny” sitting down. I made this into a “jenny” by putting some flowers in her mane.

Do you want to see how I did it? Grab a cuppa, and press play.
