A Mother’s Day Card for Mothering Sunday

Finally Mothering Sunday is here so of course I have to have a Mother’s Day Card for today’s post! Mothering Sunday usually occurs on the second Sunday in March in UK. With the very cautious easing of lock down rules, I hope some of you will be able to have some quality time with your Mum.

My Mum lives in Australia, and she had her 90th birthday this year. Sadly because of COVID, travel restrictions meant I could not visit her.

With spring approaching, I thought I’d use the Magenta Madness 2020-22 In colour. It’s REALLY bright and to be honest, it’s right out of my comfort zone!

I have also created a stamped versions of rainbow card instead of this ombre one which you can see HERE.

Mother's day card ombre effect with Brushed Blooms

The set of dies which coordinate with the Brushed Blooms stamp set is called Beautiful Brush Strokes, and the single die cuts out all these “brush” type apertures.

I wish you could see this in real life because the rainbow glimmer paper is gorgeous. The paper comes in a 12″ x 12″ sheet, and melts seamlessly into the purple, blue and green hues.

I stamped the inside with a single rose in Magenta Madness and the leaves in Granny Apple Green. The Basic White layer looked a bit bare, so I added a So Saffron mat layer to frame it.

This was such a quick and easy card to do. Pop back this Wednesday to see another card I made with the gorgeous dies!

Enjoy the rest of this Mothering Sunday with your families.
