A Masculine Anniversary card

How do you create a suitable masculine anniversary card which says all the appropriate things but without being girlie? lol!

In the flush of youth, the man you choose to spend the rest of your life with may remember to display his romantic side during your courtship. Apologies for being gender specific! Truth be known, while a woman loves being wined and dined, men aren’t really as fussed. Especially if you’ve been married as long as we’ve been.

You kind of get into a groove – my husband is my best friend, truly through thick and thin. After the year we’ve had with the pandemic, we haven’t killed each other yet! Recently we marked another wedding anniversary, and thankfully with the easing of restrictions, and having been vaccinated with both doses it was a joy to be able to go out for a pub lunch in a Marquee.

A good starting point is looking at their hobbies. There have been stamps with a nautical theme, or fishing, golf and horse riding. Nature stamps for the outdoors and the latest is one called Inspiring Canopy which I’ve used here. The die is a silhouette of four trees. Also included is a curvy die which I used to create an undulating background. There are even dies to die cut leaves but I kept this simple so that the deer would be more prominent.

My hubby is into field archery. Most Sundays he’d be off with his buddies for a friendly shoot, and sometimes competitions. I struggle to find anything archery related. Stampin’ Up! in over 12 years as a Demonstrator haven’t yet produced anything archery related – I guess it’s not a big thing in America.

The deer from Nature’s Beauty and the sentiment from Many Messages completed my card and hubby loved it!

Formula for Mascline card:

  • Clean and simple
  • Minimalistic
  • Stay away from pretty ribbons and embellishment
  • Choose neutrals and/or blue colour palette

Here’s a Valentine card I made for my hubby which incorporates all of the above. Sadly the Best Plaid Builder dies have no retired. Guess what? I intend to hand on to mine!

Stampin’ Up! has a new Reward System beginning early April 2025. Customers now must have an online account and need to opt in to earn 10% of their qualifying commissionable product purchases to redeem as Stampin’ Rewards on future orders. A qualifying purchase must meet the minimum threshold requirement on commissionable products. Be aware that Stampin’ Rewards have an expiration date. They need not be redeemed all at once. Stampin’ Up!’s system tracks them and the rewards expiring first will be used first when redeemed. You can check the Rewards Dashboard to help you keep track of Rewards Expiration Date Information. Please note the new Stampin’ Reward System cannot use Rewards toward the purchase of a Starter Kit as the Starter Kit has non-commissionable items in it. The Host Code will become obsolete.
