The Tech 4 Stampers is a monthly subscription group run by Louise Sims. She mentors and enables members to understand IT jargon and equips them with a fountain of Technical knowledge to build or manage their own websites. It takes the mystery out of “tech” and I’ve certainly grown in confidence thanks to her expertise, patience and guidance. Not only that, I’ve met and made new friends with my fellow “Techs” and love the camaraderie within the group.

Easy Trifold Card

This is probably my most favourite fold. It has maximum impact, with minimal angst. More than thirteen years ago, when I first started card making, this looked really complicated! It’s simply two parallel cuts running parallel to the long side of the card base which measures 5-3/4″ x 12″. On your score board, orient the card stock in landscape and with the long side at the top. Partially score at 2″ and 10″, omitting scoring the section in between the two cut lines. Leave your card stock at the same orientation and score all the way down at 4″ and 8″.

You can see that the partial and full score lines enables a series of Mountain and Valley folds in opposite directions to give you this effect when you view it from the top.

It collapses and folds into a standard size envelop when folded flat. The specialty Pearlescent papers has carried over to the new catalogue and are just stunning when it is embossed with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. For a finishing touch, I added the Silver and Clear Epoxy Essentials too as “bubbles”.

Blending

Since the introduction of Blending Brushes into Stampin’ Up!’s product line, blending brushes are my “go To” tools for blending with. I love the new set of masks called “Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks”. The one I’ve used on my card resembles fish scales when turned on its side. My colour palette was Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral. I made one using the sea horse with a video tutorial on how to cut and fold this tri-shutter shutter card which you can see HERE.

  1. Lovely card and brilliant blending. I do love the Decorative masks and must remember to add them to my next order. I have never made this style of card so will give it a go.

    • Thank you Cheryl. It’s an oldie but goldie. Things go out of fashion and then come back but given a different name! lol!
