I have a thank you card with Delicate Dahlias to share with you today. I got the Delicate Dahlias stamp set free with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-bration.
This stamp set is a two-step stamping one, so there is a linear image, followed by a “filler”. This means you don’t need to colour it with other colouring tools, markers or pencils. You simply ink up the “filler” stamp and stamp in the previously stamped outline.
I use my Stamparatus (stamp positioning tool) a lot. It is especially handy for tasks like this and saves me time “eyeballing” the stamp to position it correctly each time I stamp!
I love these Basic Border dies. It was one of the first things which caught my eye in the Annual Catalogue. My first foray using them was with the newly launched In Colors for 2021-2023. It was a perfect way to show off the new In Colors to my customers – you can see the card HERE.
This time I used them to show off the new Cork paper which is part of the Harvest Meadow Suite in the July-December 2021 Mini on page 55. It’s also a “cheat’s way” to use a little to give the illusion that there’s more underneath that card front layer! I’m all for stretching out my supplies as much as possible, aren’t you?
Inside of card
As the card base was Basic White Thick, I omitted the extra layer of Basic White card stock for the inside of the card. I stamped directly onto the inside. When you’re creating so many cards a month, it’s judicious to leave the sentiment. You can add them later to suit the person and/or occasion by stamping it on a tag or label.
Instead of using the masking technique to make the leaf appear behind the flower,I stamped the small floral image on a piece of Basic White scrap and fussy cut it. I stamped directly on to the inside of the card base then adhered the fussy cut flower, trimming off the excess.
