Triple Easel card with Big Cats – sounds daunting doesn’t it? I assure you, it isn’t and it was super fun to make. You’ll find it on page 45 in the Annual Catalogue for 2021-2022.
The stamps are cleverly designed so that it can be used for both species of wild cats featured in the Suite. There is a stamp with stripes for the tigers, and two stamps with spots for the leopards.
Stampin’ Up! usually incorporate images in their patterned papers which you can use to die cut with coordinating dies from the Suite Collection. The papers are called “In the Wild” and are 12″ x 12″ (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) sheets with two each of six double-sided designs. There is a mixture of tigers and leopards. I used the dies to cut the standing tiger at the back. It is the mirror image of the die which is meant to die cut the tiger facing in the other direction. By holding the paper toward a light source, you can see through the paper. You can then align the die from the reverse side of the paper against the image of the tiger, secure it with washi tape to die cut it. Neat trick, huh?
There are dies too that will cut some of the leaves/plants as well!
Factoid
Do you know how to tell the difference between a Leopard and a Cheetah? I ask because I get confused myself and had to google it. Both creatures are so sleek, built for speed and have spots. A Leopard’s coat has smaller, irregular shaped spots which are grouped together in circles to form rosettes (top picture). The Cheetah’s coat has spots which are solid roundish or oval dots (the bottom picture) . So there’s a little factoid for you.
This is a view of the card from the other side.
The card folds flat and will fit in a C6 envelope for posting.
To see how it was made, watch video tutorial and a couple more samples I made using this stamp bundle.
