Happy Halloween card and gift tag from the Frightfully Cute Bundle!
This is the final item I made to go in the Halloween parcel for my grandsons. By the time this post is published, their goody box should be with them in time for Halloween.
Are you going to mark this Halloween? It is so different from last year when we were in lock down. Whatever your plans, have a good one!
Frightfully Cute Bundle & Seasonal Swirl Dies
These are the cards I made for my grandsons. I used the same layout, but changed the die cut elements slightly and also the sentiment.
Owl card
- In the card on the left, I attached an adhesive sheet on the back of the textured silver foil. Then I cut 3 trees, one of which, I trimmed to create the branch for the owl to perch on.
- There is a die which will die cut star apertures. I ran the card stock through twice to create a larger cluster of star apertures and cut a small piece of Rainbow glimmer paper and adhered it behind so that it would “glow”.
- I die cut the owl in Crumb Cake, then backed it with Pumpkin Pie and used a Black Stampin’ Write marker to colour in the eyes for the owl.
- The moon appears lighter than the original shade of Smokey Slate. This is because I stamped off first on a scratch piece of paper before stamping it on my project.
- I’d mounted the Witch on a broomstick stamp on my Stamparatus so that I could stamp it multiple times. Sometimes you need to do this for black silhouettes to ensure good coverage.
- As a finishing touch, I added some Cute Stars adhesive backed sequins.
It’s Scary card
- For the card on the right, I repeated steps 1 & 2 for the Owl card. In step 1 for this card I only die cut 2 trees and also die cut 2 bats.
- I stamped directly on to the pretty label, and added the Cute Stars adhesive backed sequins to finish.
Gift tags
All the card stock I used for die cutting the various elements had an adhesive sheet backing. I hate sticky fingers, so I’d rather use an adhesive sheet, but of course, if you’re okay with glue, you can do that instead.
- To make the tags, I used the Tailor Made tags dies. I die cut the largest tag in Highland Heather.
- The broom and pumpkin is from the Seasonal Swirl dies.
- I added an extra tag “batty for you” – a tag on top of a tag (lol) and a little bit of stamping.
- Stampin’ Up! stock the 3″ x 9 ” (7.6 cm x 22.9 cm) Printed Gusseted cellophane bags. After I filled them, I used linen thread to close them first, then when I added the tag, I finished it off with the gorgeous 1/2″ (1.3 cm) Highland Heather grosgrain ribbon.
Well, that wraps it up for this year’s Halloween. I hope you enjoyed the series and liked the projects I shared.
Happy Halloween from my house to yours! Stay safe!
