I created a pinched treat box for Halloween using the Frightfully Cute bundle. It’s hard to believe that this is already Week 5 of 6 in my 6-week Countdown to Halloween Series and the penultimate episode!
This year, I didn’t bother trying to get Halloween sweets. They are always hard to find when you work ahead and not yet available on the supermarket shelves, or anywhere else for that matter. However, I did take my cue from the colour of the sweet wrappers. Before I jump in though, just a reminder!

Pinched Box Details
The box is created from a 6″ x 6″ (15.2 cm x 15.2 cm) piece of Highland Heather card stock. You can also create one from patterned paper instead, but I felt that the card stock was much sturdier.
There are four label/tag dies in the Frightful Tags Die set which isn’t specifically for Halloween. They can be used to die cut tags for any occasion. I love the adorable witch’s hat die, but I can also see it as the “sorting hat” in Harry Potter! The owl, tree and cluster of stars dies need not be specifically for Halloween either. About the only die tailor-made for Halloween is the spider’s web.
Lots of ideas buzzing in my head for future non-Halloween projects! So watch this space.
Front and back of box
Instead of stamping on both sides of the box, I only did it for the front and adhered patterned paper to the back. The belly band was designed to slide on and off. This enabled me to thread bakers twine underneath it to tie a bow with the tag on the front.
Retired items
Unfortunately those old fashioned corner rounder punches has long been retired. Also the 1/2″ circle punch. I tend to hang on to mine because they are just the right tool to use when the occasion arises. I used the corner rounder punch for the corners on the box lids and the 1/2″ circle punch to punch finger holes. The box is small, so I needed a smaller punch because I couldn’t find any circle dies small enough for the job.

Video Tutorial
I find it easier to use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. To create the pinch points you have to do some diagonal scoring, hence the partially scored lines. It has been demonstrated in my video, so do watch it.
